Accurate Parish Reporting respects your privacy. This page explains what happens when you visit our website or contact us.
Information you send us
When you email APR or use a contact link, we receive the information you choose to send. That can include your name, email address, message, and attachments. Only send material you have the right to share.
Basic website data
Reading public news does not require an account. Authorized administrators have private accounts, and approved publishing connections use access credentials. We store administrator email addresses, password hashes, authentication records, publishing permissions, and activity logs to operate and secure the newsroom. Our hosting provider can record basic technical information—including IP addresses, browser details, request times, and pages visited—to keep the website secure and reliable. This website does not currently process payments.
Audience measurement
We use first-party audience measurement to understand which stories are read and which links readers use. It measures article views, story-card impressions, clicks into stories, source-link clicks, image opens, browser share actions and copied links. A random browser identifier stored on your device changes each day in Central Time. These counts estimate browsers, not individual people. We retain the referring website’s hostname when available, not its full address or your browsing history.
Our analytics database does not store raw IP addresses or full browser-identification strings. Short-lived keyed hashes help limit automated requests. Aggregate daily counts are normally kept for about two years; retry and daily-visitor records for about 48 hours, and rate-limiting records for about 30 minutes. Older records are removed in batches during routine analytics maintenance as the system is used. Separate hosting security logs may retain technical information as described above.
Known automated preview requests, browsers with a newsroom administration cookie, and supported Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals are excluded. Blocking scripts or browser storage can affect measurement. These measurements stay with this newsroom rather than being sent to advertising analytics networks.

Automated publishing and service providers
Approved AI publishing services may submit article text, source information, and images to this website. Approved services receive only the access granted for this newsroom; they do not receive administrator passwords through the publishing tools. Content and associated information submitted through those services are also subject to the providers’ privacy practices. Do not send confidential personal information through an automated article submission.
Cookies and security
Private administration and connection-approval pages use essential session cookies. We keep access credentials and security records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, investigate problems, and meet applicable obligations. Access is limited to authorized purposes, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Email updates
Email subscriptions are not open yet. When they launch, signup will be voluntary and every email will include a way to unsubscribe.
